Okay, according to Gamefaqs GF2 walkthru, the formula for Shaper essence gain is: SP- 6 + Int * (Level + 1) EP- 6 + Int * (Level + 1) That only works at start. I.E., begin 5 Int, have 16 essence. But next level, 21. Only getting +Int, no multiplier or adds every level. Haven't checked Agent or Guardian yet, still working with Shaper. This on PC V1.0.2G (GOG ver). So was something changed for PC, making it hard for Shapers, or a bug? If a bug, how to fix, if possible? - Quasar

Lilith, ya got that right. See, all the tomes, you get the point right after convo ends. Didn't happen with the statue. So I just restored on the spot and tried something else. But this afternoon, hit the mouse button by accident. Party moved a step and bam! there was the point. Jeez, why'd he have to make this different? This was driving me nuts. Yeah, we have it at L2. Would it make a diff if not? Ought to get the point regardless. Anyway, also tried zeroing the spell with editor; that didn't work either. Still no point from statue. - Quasar

Okay, working on reaching archmage. Looked over list here for all L3 spells. Statue in Almaria supposed to have it for Spray Acid. Go there, say the maguc word. Statue gives out the spell, but we don't learn it. List says need AL 10; we have 20 total. Used editor to bump all AL to 10 and added Sage Lore. Still no go. Any ideas? I looked in the script but that wasn't any help. It runs some sort of hardcode for this. - Quasar

Ok. Grabbed the job and took out Queenie. Only skimmed the text and saw Fort Duvno/Verbier, so went there looking for him. Not outside, not inside. Did several passes, nothing. Finally read the desc carefully. DUH. Went on to Silvar and there he was. Only, no recognition of job done. Clicked him several times, nada. So something happened here. Any way to get him to notice the queen is dead? Some SDF I can try? - Quasar

Okay, I'm close to the end now, ready for the Scourge job (last one I'm doing for Mel; not gonna bother the vahnatai). Buzzing around the board, I see that Avernum is likely to be an unhappy place, no matter what. So this is what I wanna know: is the new portal (from Mel) gonna get busted during or after the long, dreary fight? 'Cause if it is, I'm not wasting my time fighting the hordes of critters for nothing, especially at the end. - Quasar

DUH. Never mind. Found the script and checked the dialogue. Turns out I didn't get the tribute, only the reward for completing the trial. Stupid of me not to notice. Went back just now to Fwizzle, got the tribute line, and Goro gave the reward. So all is well. Quasar

Okay, down by Melanchion. Got tribute from Haakai, got reward from Goro. Went on to the lich. Got tribute from her. Gremlins next door, so did them next, without returning to Goro. Got tribute from Fwizzle. Only, game doesn't recognize that gremlins are done. Goro only gives the reward for the lich. Talking to him (her?) again, no reward for gremlins. I *could* do the gremlins again, but I really don't want to go through this stuff a second time. So is there some SDF I can put in the console to make the game recognize the gremlin job is done? Dunno why the game can't handle two in a row. Just as well I didn't do all four at once. Quasar
